ParakeetAI Responses Feel Artificial and Not Interview-Ready

Sharing some issues I faced while using ParakeetAI during the interview:

  • The answers are not natural or conversational. They are too structured, polished, and textbook-like. In a real interview, it becomes quite obvious that AI-generated responses are being used.

  • Responses don’t sound like a real candidate thinking and speaking. They feel like pre-written explanations rather than a live discussion.

  • Answers are often too long and try to cover everything instead of being concise and expanding based on follow-ups.

  • For senior or tech lead scenarios, responses lack real ownership and decision-making. They focus more on explaining concepts rather than how things are actually handled in production.

  • There is a noticeable delay in responses at times, which creates awkward pauses and makes the experience frustrating during practice.

  • There is no control over answer style (concise vs detailed, conversational vs structured). The tool forces a single response style.

  • Responses are not follow-up aware. They provide complete answers upfront instead of adapting as the conversation progresses.

  • There is no sense of real-time thinking. Answers feel pre-computed rather than natural, with no pauses or mid-thought adjustments.

  • The tool does not challenge assumptions or show critical thinking, which is expected in senior or tech lead interviews.

  • Responses are generic and not aligned with the candidate’s actual experience, which makes them less usable in real interviews.

  • There is no clear separation between learning mode and interview mode. Both feel mixed, which reduces effectiveness during practice.

These areas need improvement to make the tool usable in real interview situations.
