I’m disappointed with Parakeet AI. The product makes big claims about real-time interview assistance, but in reality, it fails in the exact situations where it matters most.
1. “Real-time” is misleading
This is not truly real-time. There are noticeable delays in responses, which completely breaks the flow during live interviews. In an actual interview, even a few seconds of lag is unacceptable and makes the tool unreliable.
2. Poor quality AI answers
The answers are often generic, shallow, and sometimes not even relevant to the question. For technical or scenario-based interviews, the responses lack depth and accuracy. This makes it more of a liability than a help.
3. Serious detection risk (Task Manager issue)
This is the biggest problem.
The tool is supposed to be “invisible,” but that is simply not true:
It can show up in Task Manager or system processes
It can raise suspicion during screen sharing
If an interviewer asks to check Task Manager (which happens often), this tool can immediately put candidates in a risky position. This completely defeats the purpose and creates unnecessary stress.
4. Weak AI model performance
The AI models used are clearly not strong enough for real interview scenarios. They struggle with speed, context, and technical depth. For a paid product, this is unacceptable.
5. Credits feel like a waste of money
Because of all these issues, the credit system feels pointless. You end up paying for something that doesn’t deliver when it actually matters.
This tool is not ready for real interview use. It may work for basic practice, but in actual interviews, it’s unreliable and potentially risky.
