Desktop App Fails to Launch with "Invalid bypass token" Before Login (Windows 11, v3.6.7)

Environment:

  • Operating System: Windows 11

  • Desktop App Version: 3.6.7

  • Account Type: Personal Account

Issue Description:
The Parakeet desktop application fails immediately on startup before the login screen appears. Instead of allowing me to sign in, it displays the following error:

"Invalid bypass token. Please update in API environment settings."

Since the error occurs before authentication, I am unable to access the application at all.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch the Parakeet Desktop application.

  2. The application immediately displays the "Invalid bypass token" error before the login page is shown.

Expected Behavior:
The application should open normally and display the login screen.

Actual Behavior:
The application fails during startup with the "Invalid bypass token" error and cannot be used.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest desktop application (v3.6.7).

  • Deleted all Parakeet-related folders from %AppData% and %LocalAppData%.

  • Cleared Windows Credential Manager entries related to the application.

  • Restarted the computer.

  • Tried launching using both my home Wi-Fi and a mobile hotspot.

  • Interestingly, the application launched successfully once while connected to the mobile hotspot, but after closing and reopening it, the same error returned—even while still connected to the hotspot.
